I've recently been experiencing a clicking / knocking noise from the brake pedal on light application at slow speeds.

Has anyone else had this with their cars ?

Cheers

Could be a number of things best get your dealer to check it out.

My initial thought was ABS judder which gives a clunking / knocking sound as the wheels loose traction under braking but this is normal on any car and would only happen on slippery surfaces. However if your saying its happening all the time then best get it checked out.

Thanks for replies

The ABS locking suggestion is a good one but the noise i'm getting happens also when vehicle is stationery withengine running and also off interestingly.

Had dealer check it out, told me it was brake pads moving in the calipers and was perfectly normal !!!

I will not be using that dealer again.

I'll mention the Servo suggestion to another dealer i'll be using from now on to see if that yields results - great heads-ups many thanks.

Cheers again for both replies so far !!!

You know when you go to the dentist with a pain and it goes as soon as you arrive ?

similar situation with the brake pedal - knocking noise went just as i arrived at the dealership.

Who, naturally, could not find fault with the car.

Oh well...
