Bonnet Wrap

Those pesky stone chips really annoy me, particularly seeing them after you have cleaned your car and your eyes just can't help focussing on those tiny little chips which probably no-one else can see!

Have been quoted £120 (half bonnet) and £250 (full bonnet) by a local paint protection specialist.

Just wondering if anyone else on this forum has had their car done and if so, would they recommend it?

I had a full roof wrap as I wanted a Soul in white with a black roof. Kia only do red on white.
£250 sounds expensive, I paid £200 for a complete roof which is far more intricate, Roof bars and radio aerial need removing, area around 4 doors need trimming, rear door top has to be wraped. Also I live in Surrey so I have to pay pluterheaded blotacrat prices. But one year on am still pleased.

Coming from Newcastle, I'm absolutely fine with your black and white colour choice
I thought £250 seemed on the high side (nearly asked for 2 half bonnet jobs which would have been £10 cheaper).

Think I might shop around.

Many thanks for your reply

Had my bonnet wrap done this week . Not a good experience!

Car booked in first thing Monday morning. Phone call mid morning to say that supplier had sent insufficient material. Collected car and arranged for work to be carried out yesterday early afternoon when supplier delivered the correct amount of material.

Phone call yesterday late afternoon to say car ready for collection, but several "marks" on the material.

Returned to the workshop and found that there were indeed several very visible marks on the material. Also, the material was lifting in places round the edges. They agreed to remove the material and no charge to pay.

So, back to square one and after this experience, think I might just forget about the whole thing and live with the stone chips.

I don't know whether it is just the colour of this car (gravity blue) which seems to show up stone chips (previous cars have all been metallic silver/grey going back over last 15 years) or whether the Kia paint is on the "soft" side. Anyway, I'm just going to go with it now and forget about a bonnet wrap altogether!

Like I said I had a roof wrap around a year ago, still no problems at a cost of £200 all in.
