Discussion Starter #1
have just changed the starter motor on my 97 sportage 2.0 petrol..the car starts perfectly now and idles so much better than previously. however when driving it feels like shes holding back/ hesitating. and sometimes when pulling out at a junction it feels like its only running on 2 cylinders. so the question is any ideas on whats causing this as nothing else on the car was touched while changing the starter?

any help or ideas/solutions would be greatly appreciated

If it really does feel like it's running on 2 cylinders, then it can be a coil, not uncommon at 23 yrs of age.
A starter should not affect idling, un even idling could have been forewarning of coil problems.

The OP will have either sorted it by now or sold it. Whichever it is it was the only post he made and he did not have the good manners to follow it up with how it was resolved.
