Car went back to the dealer today for some warranty issues.

Sunroof is now 1000% times quieter. Even got thanked for supplying the TSB number as the dealer couldn't find it

Had the vac pump replaced as per recall - I didn't get any notification, just told them after reading on here. They also updated the ECU and changed the oil and filter at my request. Got a new key, as one only flips open sometimes.Car has got to go back though as they couldn't adjust the rear doors, that need slamming to close. They are replacing the locking mechanism on both doors, which are now on order. Not sure if this will solve the issue
......

......And the car purposely went it in filthy dirty with instructions not to wash it. Don't want a dealer's grit sponge within a mile of my artic paintwork!

Both my rear doors didn't close properly, I had to slam the doors and seeing as my kids use the back doors more than me, meant they didn't have enough strength to slam them so I had to keep going round the back to shut the doors for them (annoying).

Dealer noted the door was not quite aligned but advised me to go see their specialist body shop guys down the road (who do all the dealers body shop/panel repairs) and these guys adjusted the door hinges slightly and that fixed the problem, doors now close with a gentle push. Took about 10 minutes, no charge as warranty matter.

If the new door locks don't fix the problem, ask your dealer who they use for body shop repairs/work and see if they'll get you in there to fix it as I think it is more a body shop problem that a mechanical one.

Was your sunroof faulty or have they added something to improve the noise that we could all benefit from?

My dealer said it was a new, thicker grease. It improved for a few days, but is slowly returning to normal.....normal meaning creaky over any kind of uneven road surface.

On another annoying noise.....is anyone experiencing a rattle from the drivers door trim?

Doors are ok but dashboard and overhead trim at front of sunroof are quite creaky. I find myself thumping them to get it to stop. Only a matter of time before the airbag goes off.

KFE11-91-V570-SL is I think the reference for the excessive wind noise but may also be the same for removing the knocking from the plastic riser that taps against the sunroof glass when you hit bumps.

Baz
not from Drivers Door, but I have a VERY annoying rattle/creaking sound from Passenger Door Trim or B Pillar Cover (can't tell which one it is coming from !)

It goes in tomorrow to be sorted. Will let you know the outcome.

Bazturns out it was the 'underbody protection panel'
there is a plastic cover which protects the underneath of the Car. A bolt which holds it in place had worked loose and this bolt just happened to be directly underneath the B Pliiar on the Near Side.
This as it flapped in the wind when the car got to a certain speed vibrated against the underneath of the car and the noise was then resonated up the B Pillar. They found it by accident which was lucky.
All sorted now...... Happy Bunny again !!

Sorry for the late reply guys. Yes the quoted TSB number seems right. Thanks for the info on the doors I'll pass this on.
I have the same annoying rattle from the passenger b pillar area. Again, I'm gonna pass this info on as the dealer was totally lost last time.

Hope im not stating the blindingly obvious but i get rattle from this area when seat is in certain position and it comes from the metal seat buckle rattling on the plastic trim.
I had a rattle from here as well and I discovered that the seat belt hadn't retracted properly and the buckle was the cause of the problem. May be worth checking!

Thanks Scuba.Glad it's been sorted for you. I think mine sounds more like the seat belt buckle. Problem is seeing exactly where it's coming from when driving. Must get the wife in for a test without her seat belt on

I've booked my car in to have the dealer look at my creaking sunroof, it creaks all the time. I had phoned Kia customer services and they said they are not aware of any problems. Hopefully it will be a quick fix as everything else about the car is brilliant.
