I'd like to check the transmission oil level but can't find a dip stick for it. I've read through the hand book and it recommends taking the vehicle to a dealer. Anyone have knowledge of this? (2017 2Ltr AWD auto Sportage)
Not looked on the Sportage but in every other car I have seen the transmission has two plugs - a drain one & a fill one.
The "level" is to fill fluid through the "fill" hole until the point where it starts to overflow, then replace the plug.
To check the level is simply a case of removing the fill plug and checking that the fluid is still level with it.
Not all vehicles are fill to it flows over, some are fill to a specific level below the fill port, and therefor can be overfilled.
The manual will probably say to perform the oil level check at 68 deg C oil temp, but check to be sure.
