I took my Kia to my local dealer today as it has developed its first issue since owning the car. They said they have adjusted the air conditioning belt and that it would be £96 for the diagnosis as it's not covered under warranty. The car has only done 15k miles and it 3.5 years old (covered by Kia's 7 year warranty), the service book says the belts first inspection for the air con belt is due at 50k miles or 6 years. Kia said that the belts deform and need adjusting and is classed as a maintenance item just like break pads and window wipers so are not included. My argument to them is the car is only 3.5 years old and has only done 15k miles so the belt has failed prematurely. They disagree.

I was wondering what you guys think, am I in the wrong or is Kia?

Ring Kia customer services up and get it from them direct rather than the dealer.
Or post on this forum's Kia Support pages and then we will have a permanent record here!
