The vast bulk, if not all, of the cheap OBD2 scanners will NOT link to the ABS system. These cheap OBD2 scanners access only the engine diagnostics. ABS systems still require propriety software in the vast bulk of cases. There's an android app called Carista that can access the ABS (via an elm327 bluetooth obd2 adapter) on some newish cars but Kia isn't one of them.

The first one you list is Toyota specific for a start. Any device that wants to connect to a pc and offers free software is going to do very little. The free software is very basic indeed. There's a good chance you'll need a decent garage level tool to achieve the resetting of this light if not Kia specific diagnostics and you are correct that it's an MOT failure though many garages fail to actually spot this if the bulb is taken out.

Very good point about the possibility of there being an ongoing fault causing the light. Re-check anything you disturbed. There's just a chance the light will auto-reset if the fault is fixed. Amen to the old days Jeff. I didn't mind the regular maintenance that old cars needed but I do object to the hard to fix nature of newer cars. The mpg improvements on newer cars are welcome though but I suspect that much of that comes with such issues as we now face. Perhaps my specs are rose tinted!
