Best I've managed in my '3' 113bhp Pro is 67mpg from Goole to Birmingham last weekend, but this was 50-55mph on the cruise control, once I picked it up to 70mph by the time I'd got to somerset that average had dropped to 57, which is still pretty good. I'm getting around 50mpg in my weekly runaround, which is OK but was kind of expecting 55 before I got the car, my 320td Compact used to manage 50 and that had a 150bhp 2.0
Hi. I bought a 09 2.0 Sport recently and although the mpg was recording at 55 the tank was not reflecting this.
£40 at 1.419 per litre is 28 litres, divided by 4.5 litres to a gallon, roughly 6, multiplied by 55mpg, equals 344 miles. I'm lucky to get 250. Anyway, discovered a Pro Bitz box under the bonnet! After some reading, on forums and the Pro bitz manual, it seems these boxes can cause false readings. Also the manual says that it's not great for motorway heavy drivers. So I'm going to turn the screw to less power, see if that improves the mpg. You can read manual here, http://www.pro-bitz.com/order/download.php
I have one fitted to my 1.6CRDI ceed and i can confirm your suspicions that it dose give a false reading of about 10 mpg extra.however i have tried to bring mine down by one notch.but on the open road when overtaking i lost power, not all and not limp home mode but enough to have to pull back and get a small fright.hope it helps, but i think you will miss it
Yeh you're probably right, but I'm spending 40 quid a week on diesel like it is, so it's proving quite costly. However, mpg is not helped when you have a tyre that's half inflated, as I've just discovered :-\
