Hi all

Kia UK are delighted to announce the release of the latest map and software updates for all factory fitted head units.

Our dealers have now received their bulletins for this procedure but please note SD cards are being posted over the next few days.We recommend making contact with your dealer next week to enquire about making a booking as our servicing teams won't wish to arrange before SD cards have been received and checked.

We can confirm:

- The ÂŁ25 charge remains and this is to be retained by your dealer for their workshop time.
- All platforms must receive both software and map updates combined.
- Software updates will provide (when available) enhancements to Bluetooth compatibility, additional features e.g. connected services and bug fixes.
- The package includes Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for those vehicles with head unit / steering wheel compatibility. (Please PM us your VIN if you'd like us to check)

Kind regards

Can anyone tell me if this in the latest version of maps please for an AVN 2.0, 2016 Ceed?I've just paid for my local dealer to install the latest maps, I'm only querying this as some roads I drive on are still not recognised by the satnav.

Hi Danffk

It appears the latest software version has been applied but the map update hasn't. The latest map version for your head unit is  EUR.09.44.65.001.001(D.C2).

We're sorry to see this hasn't updated. If you're the registered keeper and would like us to call your dealer to get this job rearranged, please PM us your reg, dealer name and contact details.

This seems to be a problem across the Kia range/dealer network, I had the same issue with my Sportage update!!

Hi Danffk

I have just had my sat nav updated as well and only the software and firmware was updated and not the maps.
I took it back to my dealer, as suggested by KCS, and it has now had the correct maps installed i.e. EUR.09.44.65.001.001(D.C2)

Thanks KCS

Hi there,

Can anyone confirm if this is the latest software and maps for my 2016 Kia Ceed GT line? The car has just been in to the garage but can't see any difference. I was hoping for Apple Carplay!

Thanks!
Mines not as recent as that one...have you had the update from Kia.
Yeah, car has been in at dealer today for update but can't see any difference!

Assuming it should be the same as on my 2016 Ceed 3 these are the updates on mine.

Software ver. JD.EU.SOP.20.166
Firmware ver. JD.EU.SOP.20.109
Navi app ver. JD.EU.SOP.09.49.47
Map ver. EUR.09.55.65.001.001(D.C2)

It looks as if your Software ver. is slightly older than mine but the map is well out of date
(the others appear to be the same)
Mine has just been updated in the last couple of weeks and I watched the dealer update it so I know they are the latest versions.

You should be aware that the update on mine was a 2 stage affair.
The first one was the dealer updating the software, firmware and Navi by inserting a card into the slot on my car and performing the update.
The second stage was him copying the data from another Kia supplied card and pasting it onto my car's card for the map update.
It seems that the hardware updates are stored on the head unit but the map updates on the SD card. I suspect that your dealer has only carried out the first stage and not the second.

was driving past my local Kia (Stoneacre) so popped in to speak about the updates, they want to charge ÂŁ40/45. Isn't the ÂŁ25 fee a set price or are they free to charge what they like ?.

Hi Shayne66

Whilst the map update charge is withheld by the dealer, it
is ÂŁ25 as set by Kia UK. We're sorry this dealer's servicing team aren't relaying this
on. If you'd like us to correct this and request they call you back to arrange,
please PM us with your reg, contact number and confirming which branch of Stoneacre this was.

This is the second time a member here was quoted ÂŁ45 by Stoneacre to update the sat nav.

The other member subsequent went to a different Kia dealer and paid the normal ÂŁ25.

Seems like Stoneacre are taking advantage of the update to fleece their pockets.

I wonder how many have paid the ÂŁ45 not realizing.

I've sent a PM, i was a bit surprised at the price even after mentioning the price that has been quoted on here by Kia Customer Service, basically got told they was losing money when just doing an update on the system and couldn't offer it at ÂŁ25.
Car is booked in for them to look at the rear view camera as it's gone slightly blurry (am guessing water in lens).

Hi Paul

We need to bear in mind there are four Stoneacre branches and ideally shouldn't be tarring the Stoneacre group with the same brush. We now have the information we need so will work with that dealer's management team and our management team to bring them in line with the rest of the network.

We'd appreciate it if you have the link to that previous report of being quoted ÂŁ45 on the forum.

Many thanks

There are a lot of posts about the ÂŁ25 update charge but will do my best to find it for you.

You are right, there are a few garages in the Stoneacre group and certainly don't want to tar them all if only one is taking advantage of your customers...let's hope however your investigation doesn't find its the Stoneacre group policy.
