Hi Craig

The £25 charge is for the dealer's workshop time. For convenience, we bundle in all available software enhancements with each annual map update. We have no information on particular bug fixes. They can be any number of fixes that improve functionality but depending on the model and when it was last connected at a dealer, there may not even be any fixes required.

It's nice to read compliments for the KCS team.

We are very lucky to have them as a posting member and they add to the kiaownersclub.co.uk experience.

In my capacity as your Forum Moderator/Admin I have had contact with the KCS team on numerous occasions over the last 6 years and assure everyone of their commitment to the kiaownersclub and know they do all they can to help resolve issues.

I think most people on the Sportage forum will be wondering if this will fix the bug on the DAB radio which shows no song or artist information.

I'm reluctant to spend £25 updating the maps and for various bug fixes if it's not going to fix the biggest bug complaint in the Sportage.

KCS - can you confirm?

Hi,

Will this software update apply to a 2016 Venga 2 ( non sat)?. The car was serviced at a dealer yesterday and I mention the inability to receive calls on an iphone 5s. They confirmed that only iphones upto 4s were compatible.

Well I've just got a reply from KCS and have been told my Venga can't be updated with the Android and Apple CarPlay

Mind you I had a hired car awile ago and didn't think much of CarPlay.
But wouldn't it be nice if the maps were up to date when you get an update. Edited by: Chrispy1

I may be wrong but that doesn't sound right. There used to be compatible phone list somewhere but I can't find a uk one now.

dave1978 - it's certainly been a challenge but we anticipate things will get... less complicated... as head units across the range are brought more in line as generations move on.

Hi Fitshase

We can't access bug fixes so unfortunately can't confirm. We'll no doubt see feedback from those owners affected by this characteristic in the coming weeks.

The lack of information is not just on the Sportage, it is the same with Sorento's as well

Never used to get the info om my 16 reg Ceed SW GT Line but had to have a new head unit fitted due to USB, Ipod playing issues, after the new head unit was fitted I now get the all missing info on DAB

First service due May hopefully I will get the map updates not sure about car play etc on my car ??

Hi Thanks for your prompt reply. Will future updates be available now that the Here system is owned by Mercedes? What other updates are included? I have a 2015 Sorento KX4 (the new model). Also I have a problem with the radio which regularly starts (but not all the time) when I switch the engine on (I always switch the radio off before I stop the engine). My local Kia garage has tried to fix this but without success so far. Will this update fix this problem or do you know of a fix? Thanks for all your help. Best wishes.

They said I had 2 options either buy the memory card with new maps and software on it for £25 or just have the software updated on the head unit for free of charge,
As the car had a map update in October I've gone with the software update,
I'm dropping the car off on Monday morning to be done.

Hi johno99

We can't foresee any change to our map provider in the near future. Other than confirming your KX-4 will receive compatibility for Android Auto / Apple CarPlay, we don't have information on software enhancements for a particular model.

Regarding your radio issue, we recommend taking all available updates at your dealer and then if this is still happening, please call or message us so we can get technical advice.

I would say no if you're going to use Google Maps with Android Auto from now on.
