There are a lot of posts about the £25 update charge but will do my best to find it for you.

You are right, there are a few garages in the Stoneacre group and certainly don't want to tar them all if only one is taking advantage of your customers...let's hope however your investigation doesn't find its the Stoneacre group policy.

Same for me with Platts Kia Stafford. Always provide excellent service and I wasn't charged for the update

I've got my '16 Sorento KX4 booked in for an update next week, at the normal £25 price. I'll see what version etc it gets updated to and then report back.

To be honest, £25 is cheap considering it takes several hours, however the actual work that needs to be done is very light - it probably just takes ages for the update to pretty much "perform itself". It's one of those things that I'd be entirely happy to just do myself, but for whatever reason (probably a good one) Kia will only allow dealers to do the updates.

It doesn't take several hours. It should take less than an hour. I watched them do mine.

All done, and a free quick outside wash thrown in as well - can't complain! KCS confirmed that this was the latest version earlier on the 1st July this year, I guess this is still the case.

All seems fine so far, except that my phone (LG G5) loses charge while connected to the dedicated USB port if Google Maps is navigating

Trickle charges with no navigation running.

Please could CS advise if this map release is the latest version. My brand new Sportage, delivered 2 weeks ago, doesn't have a local road that was opened in September 2015.

You'll find that the mapping can never be fully up to date.

When you are dealing with hundreds of thousands of roads, if not millions, it's unreasonable to expect the mapping company to be able to keep every single bit of data totally current - it's a mammoth task.

I don't expect every road to be included - that'd be foolish. It just led me to wonder if my version was the most up to date.

HiI recently asked to get map database on 64 plate Carens upgraded as I was about to do a 2 week trip around the country and wanted the most up to date maps. I was charged £53 (half an hours labour time) by the dealer who supplied the car

I am not happy with the upgrade as on the trip I lost count of roundabouts not on the satnav, speed limits changes, satnav directing me up one way streets different routes for the same journey etc. Contacted the dealer to be told its the latest version. I just feel that I have wasted money and time getting it done.
