Hi all,
noticed that the side lights were on this morning for no apparent reason, tried to start the car, flat battery, they must’ve been on all night, the only thing I can think of is that I always leave the light stalk in auto, which I’ve always done , could there be a short somewhere? or have I overlooked something, Thanks for looking..

My neighbour's mondeo does that from time to time! In his case it's a defective stalk. Hope you find a fix.

How about if you leave the light switch in the 'off' position - would that prevent it happening ?

Thanks for your reply, yes it does, but I shouldn’t have to, the reason I leave it in the auto position, Is if I hear anything suspicious at night I can use the key fob to turn on the main headlights, which I’ve done before and deterred people hanging around our drive..
