Wondering if I would be able to swap my 18'' wheels for 16s /17s in the interests of better ride quality ?
( unfortunately back problems and 18'' while looking great are harsh )
A local tyre specialist advised against doing so but I feel other models with same engine came with smaller wheels !
Has any one out there done this swap ? or can you please advise thanks .

I think if you go for a smaller wheel the tyre ratio is different so you end up with the overall same diameter.

You may be able to fit 16'' wheels,I agree that ride would be less harsh, there is also much more protection for wheel rims etc on potholed roads with 16'' wheels,I am not a fan of 'rubber band' tyres on our rough/potholed roads.
You would have to check that the 16'' wheels had enough clearance for brakes etc though.

Cheers max

tyre pressure ok presumably ! - taxi driver was just reiterating what you said about big alloys & thin tyres harsh !!1 -agree entirely - his sportage probably on 17'' s felt a lot better - will do some r and d see what can be done and report back.
( sometimes a small modification makes all the difference )
thanks for your patience

Have fitted 16 '' dezent alloys and this has improved the ride quality greatly well worth £750 ( for anyone out there slight issue of tyre pressure sensor values ! cost a further £100 & need calibrated - I have a friend who will sort ) Just makes for much more comfortable on smooth as well as bumpy surfaces - definetly reccomend for back sufferers too🙂
