Hi,
I have a 2008 2.0l petrol sportage and am not too pleased with the fuel economy. I'm only getting around 23-24 mpg around town and 29-30mpg on motorway journeys. Is anyone else getting similarly lowfigures?

Also, RPM seems a bit high - approx 3,100 rpm to maintain 70mph in 5th. Again, do others get something similar?

Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Ben

Hi Ben,

I have the same engine but in a 2006 4wd Sportage, I am seeing similar numbers to you but on the motorway side you can do better if you ease the pressure on the right pedal and do 60 instead of 70 :)

The Sportage is a heavy jeep so those figures are good enough.

If I do 110Km/h then my consumption is 9.8l/100kmAt 85-95km/h then it ~8l/100km
I wish the 5th gear would be better suited for highway driving.
This is the only drawback I can find after owning my -05 sportage for 4 years :)

How are you getting those figures, have you a trip computer in yours?
