Hi, i have a 2003 Kia Rio and the Speedometer isn't working. I checked
the hood and suddenly it started to work for about 10 minutes but now is
back to not working. Sounds to me like a loose connection. Only problem
is that i don't know where to look. can someone help me out?

Hi sorry haven't got back to you yet. Been feeling a bit ill lately and the weather's not been good so haven't had a chance to look uner the bonnet. Will let you know as soon as I do.

Had a look last night. There are two sensors I can see on my transmission. A small one on the front, you can see it from the passenger side wheel arch if you take the wheel off. The second is at the back, just above the differential. I suspect the one on the back is the speedo and the one on the front is the reverse gear sensor. I suggest pulling off the connectors to both sensors, squirting with WD40 and replacing. See what effect that has. Inspect the wires on both sensors to see if there is a good connection and no loss of insulation or wire breaks.
