Hello all<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Could anyone give me a steer on this one?

I have an 06 plate Rio 1500CDRI, covered 40k. I have owned it for the
past 2000 miles

It has a low speed/ low rpm drivability issue. The best way to describe
the behaviour is that when coming off the throttle and re- applying it to raise
your road speed the car ""kangaroos"", this is only on light re-application, if
you say set 1/3 throttle there is no issue other than you are now approaching
the traffic in front far too quickly!! . It's almost as if the throttle is too
sensitive.

To build a picture and to cover off the normal questions.

Under 2000rpm, more noticeable in 1st/ 2nd gear.

No relation to engine temp.

No engine management light on.

No excess smoke.

Good fuel eco, around 55-60 to the gallon.

Good performance.

Fuel filter changed, and system checked for water.

I have run a bottle of injector cleaner through the system.

Any ideas?

Many thanks

What sort of journeys have been made with the car recently ?

And where was the diesel fuel brought from ?
Has the problem only been recently (within the last tank full of fuel) ?

If under heavy acceleration is there lots of soot out of the exhaust ?

I am wondering if a quick 'Italian tune up' would help in this situation if lots of short journeys have been made to blow the cob webs out of the system.

Hello Diddy

Thanks for the reply.
The problem has been there since I brought it.

I have now refueled on four occasions using different stations. The normal daily journey is a mixture of M and A road. there is no excess emissions. I am wondering if this was a known issue and maybe there is an engine ECU update available ??
Thanks

I don't think it is a known issue.

The engine sounds like it has a proper work out (i.e. not just poodle'd around town).

I have the same engine in my Rio (09 reg) and do not have the issue you describe.

Davy may know if a firmware update is needed to the ECU.

Sorry I cannot help more.
