Hiya, any one out there managed to change the oil filter on an 04, 2ltr diesel carrens? it's located under the master cyl at the side of the turbo & is a B!!! to get at. there is however a large allen bolt directly below the filter housing that looks like it goes up through the filter mounting through the oil cooler & in to the filter but I'm very lothed to remove this with out knowing first.

Thanks Martin.

Yea I've done it! Changed the oil filter!!. Removed the intercooler pipe, water header tank & undid the air con coolent pipe bracket but it was still very tight for my big oldhands so I removed the inter cooler & mounting also the plastic top cover from the engine, this gives just enough room to get a hand down each side of the brake master cyl & on to the filter, Thank fully mine came straight off.

It's still a bit of a fiddle to get the filter up & out.

Total time: 45mins + 15mins to drop & refill oil.
