  1. Sportage 2021+
Hi! First time poster here! Does anybody have any idea is it possible to "upgrade" the Sportage 2022 PHEV 13.8 KWh Li-ion battery? I love the powertrain and the approx. 50km range I get on a freeway but i wish that I could double range with a "addon" battery or "upgrade" to bigger battery.

I've plugged in my PHEV using the 3pin home charger this evening for the first time. I can see the charging status on Kia Connect app, but it seems to be charging very slowly. Kia claims that you can charge the PHEV from 10-100% in 5hr 30mins. I started at 16% and after 45mins it's showing 20%...

Touch wood my PHEV Sportage will arrive sooner than the prince. Currently predicted for the beginning of next year, but I'll believe it when I see it. Will trade in current car which is running just fine so no urgency. New to Kia. Persuaded by test drive, great reviews, and new curvy dash along...
  4. Niro (2016-2022)
Through my employer and using salary sacrifice, I am able to lease either a PHEV or Electric car, without the usual constraints that leasing a vehicle comes with, i.e being tired into a long contract. With this, I can return the vehicle if I am ever made redundant or resign. Currently, I drive...
  5. Niro (2016-2022)
I recently bought a Kia Niro PHEV (2019) and mostly charge it at home (13A Socket), the electronics box in the charging lead shows "6A" in the position that the handbook indicates as the "L"ow current setting. I have used the car display to select High, Medium and Low charging options but the 6A...
  6. Niro (2016-2022)
Hi All, I have just purchased a Niro PHEV 2017/67 Plate and have read a lot online and in this forum about the 12v battery not lasting or keeping its charge for very long. Its the first weekend of owning the car and had a change to check the 12v battery using a Ctek MSX5 battery charger. The...
  7. Niro (2016-2022)
Hi All, I am looking to swap my current car to a Niro PHEV. With lockdown and working from home then I no longer need a thirsty Jaguar diesel and think that for the amount of mileage that I will be doing in the future then a Niro PHEV makes sense. After doing an average of 20+K miles a year I...
  8. Niro (2016-2022)
We recently bought a Niro PHEV as most of our (normal) journeys are less than 30 miles so we anticipated driving mostly on electric. However, our experience so far is that we’re only running around 50% electric, this despite the fact that the car has been in EV mode 99% of the time. Now we’ve...

Recently bought an Xceed Plugin Hybrid. It defaults to Electric mode in which case it will run on battery until it’s exhausted then switch to Hybrid (HEV) mode. This is usually what I want. If I select HEV mode it seems to switch between EV and engine so as to maintain the battery level at...
  10. Niro (2016-2022)
Picked up a 2020 PHEV on January 4. The online site and brochure says that it comes with a storage net as standard. Neither KIA Ireland or the dealer seemed concerned that they haven't supplied one. Did you get your's?
  11. Niro (2016-2022)
Just bought a PHEV, great car but not happy with service. Car delivered without User Manual, took three weeks to get one. Still don't have a manual for the multimedia, KIA Ireland say that there isn't one and I have to use the smart phone facility. This is very hard to do and the information...
