Just thought id add for the naysayers the fact that ive done this on a colleages sporty too at work and it worked fine which proves its not matched to a specific car.Again both done twice in the last year with no issues what so ever.

The SD card in the vehicle only has the Maps on, so thats correct. It stays in the car and the unit access's it each time the cars started.The firmware is updated by copying onto another sd and just inserting into the slot, turning on the ignition and leaving for about 12mins as the firmware...
