Just a thought, Have you considered buying a steel wheel for the spare with new tyre.
When your tyres wear down for replacement put one of the worn tyres on the steel wheel and the new tyre on the alloy. Much cheaper. And the steel wheel will spend virtually all of its life hidden in the boot anyway so why bother with alloy.Question

I did that right after I bought it. I was  towing a caravan and didn't fancy the run flat.

The only drawback is that the steel spare is slightly larger and that means you cannot fit in the fancy tray.

I believe mine came from a basic Kia Soul, but I wouldn't swear to it.

I agree with Jamesskye regarding lack of spare wheel  I believe that the gunk or whatever, is virtually useless  unless it is a pin prick size puncture I had this setup with a Audi  A2  the first puncture it was all over the road  and had to be lifted  and towed to a garage.

When are manufactures  going to forget this stupid arrangement and fit spares

I do not want a compressor as like many motorist I carry one already.

manufactures don’t fit spare wheel any as it adds to the weight which can increase the CO2 which could but the car into the next tax bracket? Found this out when I got my Skoda Superp, but at least had the full size spare as an option at £100
