    Posted: 05 Jul 2010 at 11:51pm
Hi All,

I was trying to locate and replace the pollen filter but don't know how to get to it. So far I have managed to remove the glow box and locate the filter /blower housing. I have seen how to replace the filters on LHD Sorento, but RHS got the filter rotated 180 deg - o the access might be from the front of the car?
Please help due the air con smells like wet dog.

cheers,
Pit

Only facelifted sorentos had pollen filters, if it't there, drop glovebox down, and theres a clip on access panel staring you in the face.

if you have the wet dog smell then you have bacteria growing on the evaporator this can cause some nasty health issues to some people (google smelly air con for details) get your air con system serviced with a bacteria cleanse use a dealer or specialist get a guarantee of its success in removing the smell do not use halfords quick fit or such as they simply use a aerosol can and this does not get into the evaporator chamber where the bugs are

Hi,
thanks for the answers

The problem is kinda sorted - it was just lack of using AC. Now there is no smell, nice cold air.
I will still like to change the filter if there is one - I will take picture of the AC assembly - yes, there is a clip in the middle.

cheers

Hi, my 07 model  has 2 filters as if it is in 2 halves  Difficult to explain   but.....After you have removed the first one it just pulls straight out if I remember correctly! the second one then has to be slid across to where the first one was & removed in the same way. It's easier to do than explain!
I bought ADL filters & used the  original plastic holders....the most awkward job is the glove box lid!
Hope this helps...a pair of long nose pliers come in handy for removing the filters
Cheers

I have a question... My dad is insisting me to buy the ACC brand. Are there any compatible lines of this brand? I have tried searching the ACC cabin filter online, I just dont know if these are compatible. I have a KIA Rio 2005. Thanks!
