Hi Guys, I am new to this board. I have a couple of problems on my 1998 Kia Sportage, 5dr 2L petrol.
The first problem is the car has done 55k mls but the Steering rack is leaking from the bottom shaft where it goes to the RH wheel. Do I have to change the the rack or can I replace the seal? The second problem is it will not engage 4WD when selected. Any help on either problem would be welcome. Thanks Alan |

Alan,
The 4WD drive issue is probably associated with the vacuum pipes need to disengage the front free wheel hubs...from what I've read, the pipes split and then allow air in...cheap to fix I gather. Take a look at the 2nd post in this thread: http://www.kiaownersclub.co.uk/forum/2001-sportage-4wd-selection_topic4117.html You may get more attention in the mark 1 sub-forum (see box at the top of the home page).
