Hi

I have a 2007 Kia Carens GS5 CRDI 1991CC and recently the speedometer/milemeter stopped working. Is this a common fault with this model and does replacing the speed sensor usually resolve the problem?
The sensor works off the gearbox and not the wheel.

I would appreciate any comments or advive

Thanks

Peter

Mine stopped working the other day and all it was was a 10amp fuse which garage charged 32pence for and £32 labour, so check fuses first!! regards brujoy

Hi, if your reversing sensors have also stopped working, you may have the same problem as I had, a 32pence ,10 amp fuse blown, which KIA main dealers charged me £32 to put in ,so check all your fuses first!! cheers brujoy

Many thanks to brujoy. It was indeed the 10amp fuse. Pity the garage mechanic hadnt checked fuse before telling me i needed to get a speed sensor, cost £50! plus labour of £40! wish I had joined this forum some weeks ago and I would have saved myself £90!

I bought the Kia Carens 2007 GS5 CRDI  1991cc model because it was cheap, a diesel with  6 gears, ideal for towing my caravan. Have had it since last October and am generally pleased with it. The gear change is a bit clunky and its not the most comfortable of cars but you cant have everything uless you pay considerably more.

I would appreciate any comments or advice from other Kia Carens owners.

Thanks

Peter

KIA Carens 2.0 CRDi ( 140 Hp ) 2009 Tachometer not function.
I have a problem with my Carens. No mileage works. Only the engine, fuel, and temperature arrows work. I moved the sensor that is mounted in the exchange and still does not work. I switched the carriage and the same situation. I do not know how to do it. Is there any such experience?
