Hi all.
Had my 05 Sorento for three years, it has been fantastic until yesterday.
Big bang drive shaft snapped through the side of the box.
£6k parts from Kia car worth around the same. Can anyone help?

Im sorry for your news... was it the front prop shaft that failed ? Been there in 2009 http://www.kiaownersclub.co.uk/forum/auto-gearbox-failure_topic892_post2644.html?KW=#2644
was financially very painful I managed to get used parts apart from the prop shaft no second hand ones about I still think this failure was avoidable and KIA should be doing more to help...

mball36 if you go on ebay and put in sorento gearbox in the search.there are a few auto boxes on there for the 2005 sorento

Thanks for the advice guys.
Yes it was the front prop shaft that went without any warning.
Does any one know if any 05 auto box will fit there are 2 on ebay one is a borg warner unit the other is a Korean. my Sorento is an 05 XS
Any help/advice appreciated.

Prop shafts appear to get forgotten on service.Mine had full dealer service for 4 years untill i started to do it myself.Grease nipples still had rubber covers on nipples still stuck on with black paint from when prop was made.On service schedule there is no mention of greasing or in handbook.Possibly the cause of so many failing.
