I have a 2014 Rio 1.25 petrol which has now done around 25,000 miles and so I am looking at new tyres. I wonder if anyone has any advice as to what to replace them with?

Hi Tony,
I've got a 1.4 petrol on a 13 plate which came with Contis. When I replaced mine I bought a set of 4 Avon ZZ5. They are A rated for wet roads and a bit quieter than the Contis. The price ranges between around £70 to £106; I paid £74 each. I've been very pleased with them.

What make do you have on at the moment and are they the original tyres? 25,000 sounds pretty good to me, so why change to another brand? I have Hankooks on my Rio, which is the same spec as yours, and I like them although I have only done about 12,500 miles so far, so I don't know what the wear will be like.

I purchased Thrree-A tyres at £135for all four.
They are Michelin owned company. I find them to provide better grip than the Conti amd also better in wet too. Around the same for economy.
Mine are 205/45/17

if you go to independent tyre places what do they do about the TPMS system, do they leave it alone or just replace the inner valve itself?
