Hi All,

I have just joined the forum and need top pick your collective brains please...

I own a 2004 KIA Magentis 2.0 Automatic.

Yesterday whlst stuck in traffic on a slight incline, the cars engine stopped for no reason and the Engine Management warning light came on at the same time. I re-started the engine without any problems, but 100-yards up the road it happned again. Again I re-started the engine and managed to get home without any futher problems.

I drove to work this morning and the car was fine.

I have some long journeys to do over he next few days and am concerned that this may happen again. Any ideas why this happened?

Thanks.

Hi Alan, and welcome to the forums. As f0ster says, you need to get the codes read, to have any idea of the problem.
Fleet: Kia Venga 3 1.6 auto, Subaru XV 2.0 SE Premium Lineartronic, Hyundai i40 Estate.

Hi All,

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Actually, the car broke down on Sunday 29/11/15 and I had to call out the RAC as the engine would not start. The diagnostic revealed that the engine had a duff Crankshaft Sensor… so, off to the garage for a repair! And a train journey and long walk into work today.
