I had the same car as Norfolkia, averaged about 40 mpg with mine. Avoid the diesel for short journeys or low mileages.
Elvira was a 3Door VR7 1.25 Petrol in Midnight Black Metallic.Gone to a new home now.Juan is her car,it`s a 1.1D Air in Midnight Black Metallic.

Honestjohn true mpg suggests 45 mpg, my trip computer after most trips usually reads around 45 mpg, though I suspect that this may not be accurate by around 2-3 mpg,  It would be interesting to know the figures for the opposition eg Ford Fiesta.

If you want economy go for the 1.1 crdi. I used to get between 65 and 80npg. Never lower than 60 ever.

Wife picked up brand new 1.2SE in December and with a weekly 120 round trip and short trips she's showing 47.1 on the computer. I've just got a 2016 1.0 Ecoboost Focus Titanium with 3k on the clock, and in the first week I'm struggling to get 40mpg... Lovely car but not economical. My old Seat Exeo 2.0 CRDI was doing 44 easily...

recently the trip computer showed I was getting 45.7mpg, when I came to fill up, I calculated the mpg to be 43mpg. I filled the tank up exactly its maximum 43 litres, the trip range showd 410 miles which gives an mpg of 43mpg.  I thought the trip range would be based on previous driving - ie 45.7mpg attained?
